How to Update Your Menu Prices Without Reprinting Your QR Code
By MegaComanda Team · September 17, 2026
One reason a paper menu gets expensive over time is that every price change means reprinting. With a digital menu, that stops being a problem — but it's worth understanding why.
The QR code points to a link, not a fixed file
The QR code you print doesn't contain your menu — it points to a web address. What shows up at that address is whatever MegaComanda has saved at that moment. That's why updating a price in your dashboard updates what the customer sees instantly, without touching the QR code at all.
What you can change without reprinting
Prices, product names, categories, photos, and marking a dish as sold out or back in stock — all from your phone, as many times as you want, at no extra cost and with no need to generate a new QR code.
When you would actually need a new QR code
The only case is if you switch restaurants or change your menu's web address — that's when the link actually changes. For everything else (prices, products, design), the same printed QR code keeps working forever.
And if you run a daily menu
MegaComanda has a separate section for this, apart from your regular menu: you build the daily menu by course type (starter, soup, main, dessert, drink) and turn it on or off whenever you want, without touching the rest of your menu or your QR code. Ideal if your offering changes day to day — update it once in the morning and you're done.
