3 Ways to Create
Your Restaurant's QR Code Menu

It depends on your budget and whether you just want customers to read the menu, or also place orders from their phone. Here are the 3 typical options, from simplest to most complete.

1. PDF menu + QR code

You design the menu in a tool like Canva, upload it to the cloud to get a link, and generate a free QR code that points to that file.

Pro: Free and quick to set up.

Keep in mind: Every price change means uploading a new PDF, and if the link changes you have to reprint the QR code.

2. Interactive menu platform

You sign up for a platform built for restaurants: you load categories, photos, and prices from a dashboard, and it gives you a permanent QR code.

Pro: You update prices or mark dishes as sold out from your phone, without changing the QR code. Usually has a free or freemium plan.

Keep in mind: Free tiers on some platforms include ads or limit advanced features — it varies by platform.

3. Full ordering and management system

The customer scans the QR code, builds their order, and sends it straight to the restaurant or to WhatsApp — sometimes with integrated payment.

Pro: Speeds up service and reduces order-taking errors.

Keep in mind: Usually requires a monthly subscription or a commission per order — worth checking carefully before choosing.

Where does MegaComanda fit?

MegaComanda's Free plan is already a complete interactive menu platform (option 2): real-time updates, no ads. The Pro plan adds what option 3 offers — in-house or WhatsApp ordering, call-the-waiter and request-the-bill buttons — without ever charging a commission per order.
